One of the unique things about LEGO is how well branded sets appeal to consumers. The company has taken this idea to the public in the past few years, opening the LEGO Ideas website for fans to imagine all sorts of unique LEGO sets that could be created. It’s worked to bring some absolutely fantastic sets to the public, including the Minecraft LEGO set that became popular a few years ago.

Now, a LEGO set based on The Legend of Zelda: Wind Waker is up for consideration. The set features The King of Red Lions with several interchangeable parts, as well as an island where Link can perform various activities. Here’s a short list of some of the features of the set:

1) The King of Red Lions sail is moveable and his head can be turned and placed in a variety of positions. The sail can be swapped out for the cannon (non-firing).

2)There is an enemy warship to battle.

3) Link can fight the Chu-chu jellies on the island. Also, the rock can be removed to revealing a hole that leads to secret chamber where. Link must then battle the spiders to retrieve the treasure. The chamber is accessible via a hinge.

The set creator says the set should contain about 576 pieces in order to recreate the island and the boat, which is intricately designed to allow you to move his neck around. The set has been up for some time, but it’s finally nearing its goal of supporters to be considered as an actual production set. If you’re interested in supporting it, be sure to check out the page and let LEGO know that you’d be interested in purchasing this set, should it be made available to the public in a production run.

  1. I’ve gotta say it looks awesome even from a Lego fan perspective. I imagine the ship will be $20 just with the licenses and the island looks like it might be $30 – $40.
